Arranging a Co-Operative Funeral Bond
Arranging the bond is easy -- there are no legal procedures, and anyone over 18 may open a bond. You may also open a bond on behalf of a relative, partner, or friend.
To open a Funeral Bond or request information, simply complete the online application form and e-mail it to us. The online form is not a contract, simply an expression of interest. Submitting this form will not place you under any contractual obligation. After receiving your enquiry, we will prepare a quote detailing the various costs and fees that will be applicable to the type of funeral that you have specified. If you are satisfied at this point then the paperwork is completed in a simple way, through the post.
There are a number of ways in which you can pay for your bond:
- Cash
- Cheque
- Credit Cards; Visa and Master Card
- Debit Cards; Switch, JCB, Solo, Electron and Visa Debit
- By regular monthly instalments: 12 months – interest free
- 24 months – APR 8.61%
- 36 months – APR 11.61%
- 60 months – APR 12.74%
Upon full payment you will be sent the Bond Certificate. You should keep this in a safe place and tell your next of kin, executor or solicitor of its existence. You will also receive a booklet containing information on dealing with a death and a storage bag for you to keep all of the documents together.
